Well, life goes on...I say with grief in my heart. My grandbebe' Lucy doesn't get it, so for her and to cheer us (her Nana & mom & dad) a little before it's back to Houston and Clearwater, a trip to the Black Dog Cafe in Martha's Vineyard for Hot Chocolate and a little lunch is in order. My daughter and I were on our way to the Plymouth library one February day back in 1992 and decided we needed some hot chocolate at the Black Dog Cafe to cheer us up on a frigid blustery day, it's only forty minutes to the ferry from Plymouth...called my husband to tell him where we were, he almost had a heart attack, couldn't understand for the life of him how someone on the way to the library ends up at Martha's Vineyard, no wonder we're divorced...anyway it has become a bit of a winter tradition, although we haven't been able to keep it up in awhile. So it seemed appropriate that we take the trip over to Martha's Vineyard while we are here. Things have not changed at the BD, thankfully. There is one thing new...A stone sandwich and cup of coffee in honor of a "regular" that is departed, see pic.
Couldn't stay for more than lunch so just wandered around Vineyard Haven a little then caught the ferry back to Falmouth. Would love to come back when it's a little warmer. A lot of day workers on the ferry going home after a hard day, nice way to commute to work.

What a great day...we need to go every February! Keep the tradition alive!
I TOTALLY AGREE!
I've only been to Martha's Vineyard once, but it was lovely. It happened to be a year or so after Bill Clinton was out of office, and he was golfing there. We couldn't get by on the road because of the media circus. But I LOVE the Black Dog.
It must have been wild when the Clintons were there...I love your blog Nicole...I can tell you have tons of energy and it really shines through! Thanks for following.
